Amazing Fish Fry! Try broiled butter garlic cod -- very delicious. We came with kids (kid friendly place) and the service was very good and prompt.

My husband and I went here for dinner tonight. It was excellent! I had the butter garlic cod with baked potato, and fresh made roll. My husband had the Italian beef with homemade baked beans. We were both happy with our selection. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful everyone there was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place to check out.

This is a fairly small restaurant mostly a bar and the food is delicious. It's simple down home kind of cooking and they give you great portions. The service was fast and they're incredibly nice people. It's a typical bar atmosphere in fact the bar itself takes up 3/4 of the restaurant, but honestly, the food was quite good. We had hamburger and a sirloin steak sirloin steak sandwich and the fish fry which was cod and a chopped steak All of our meals were very good. we also had dessert which was a peach cobbler and a bread pudding and both of them were yummy. The prices were reasonable and the owners were there waiting on tables asking if everybody was OK if they needed anything it just was a really nice place, very casual wear and just a simple place to go to.

The Reuben's were really good at this place! Met a friend here and we both decided on the Reuben. I think it was probably the best Reuben I've ever had! Lots of good corned beef. Did I mention the Reuben was really good? Cute place too! Our waitress was attentive too! We will return!

OK...truth. I wanted to give this review a four star because like so many restaurants I have found in the Midwest they have sulfurous tasting water, which even impacts the soda. It is simple to get a good water filter. Why restaurants don't do that baffles me. So, why did I give it a five star review? The food. It was that good...and so was the service. The place is a dive. Truly a dive that still has its Christmas decorations up going into late January. I loved it. It looked great from the outside and even the smell of the place was great from outside. My son and I shared the cheese curds, which were tasty if on the edge if slightly overdone. But maybe that is their normal. Regardless, they were good. I had the meat loaf sandwich and my son had the Bobby's burger. We both loved what we had. I love it when food is fresh and served hot. That is a lesson a lot of restaurants need to learn. Hot food is good food. On top of great food, the server was great and the other server took care of the table, promptly cleaning up our curds plates and getting us boxes for the generous portions of our sandwiches that we couldn't finish. Volo is a little out of the way, but definitely worth it for a meal here. Give it a try. You shouldn't be disappointed.

I was lucky enough to see Bobby's from a morning stop at Dunkin and immediately thought that looks like a great regular space. I was then lucky enough to have time post hike at the Volo Bog to stop in for a late lunch. Sat at the wonderfully long bar and was served immediately. Traditional beer and liquor selections were perfect for the vibe. Paired a beer and a whiskey with a cup of chicken noodle soup (light on chicken for my particular ladle, but that is always a crap shoot) and cheese curds (too cheesy??!) Clearly being healthy post hike. Five stars for being exactly what they appear to be. A regular outpost along the road full of hearty food served quickly with zero pretension. Highly recommended unless you want a big screen for football. Many medium sized tvs at bar though!

Bobby's Barrel was an unexpected gem. We were nearby and wanted lunch so in we headed. Do you want a few drinks and to watch the game? They got you covered. How about eating excellent diner food including the biggest pork chop I've ever seen? They have that too. Maybe you're feeling lucky and want to gamble? Say no more, fam - there's a mini casino too. Add in genuinely friendly service, an "up north bar" atmosphere, huge portions and fair prices - it's a winner.
